This varies greatly depending on the area of North Carolina. Our state is nearly 500 miles across with topography varying from the flat barrier islands of the Outer Banks to the mountains in Asheville. It is best to ask the question for a particular area and learn what type of construction best suits the topography there. Also, even then there are great debates about slab verses crawlspace construction. Just Goggle the topic and listen to the debates. ... more

Hello, is your mother's home in Fayetteville? I have some local lenders who can do a 203k/renovation loan, but it won't be an assumption. Rates are actually very good right now, so it's possible you might be able to get a rate that's close to the one your mom has or better, by getting your own loan. ... more

I think there are a lot of different people who could definitely do this job for you, and do it well too. I would suggest calling around to have a few of them come to check out the area. Once you have a chance to meet them, and get quotes from them, you should be able to decide who you feel most comfortable hiring, and that is who you should go with.

Please delete all photos for each address, and I will contact my agent to update the photos once the old ones are taken off the site.

We lived there for 3 years. It is safe. There are a LOT of speeders because people use it as a "shortcut" from Cliffdale Rd to Raeford Rd. There have been a few break-ins of vehicles and few thefts more recently but overall, it's safer than other areas. ... more

Is there somewhere else you could keep your dogs? Most pet owners can't smell the odor in their house (I have a cat, I can attest). When showing the house to potential buyers, you'll definitely want to have the dogs away or at least outside. It can also be very startling to the buyers if they bark a lot. http://www.cal-rid.com/en/rodent_and_mammal_control.html ... more

Unfortunately you can't fix the school's ratings as they are based on the schools performance but you can fix how you market your home correctly to target the right buyer. There is a buyer for all areas. You just have to get the right one in the door! ... more

List your home with a REALTOR and it WILL hit all the sites. Sites that allow for FSBO's are few in comparison to what a home listed by a REALTOR hits automatically.

Homes on Trulia are listed by realty companies only with exception of rentals. I would tell you to use Zillow, ForSaleByOwner.com or Craigslist. Most real estate sites feed off the local MLS's and do not allow FSBO's. One of the advantages of working with a Realtor. ... more

Ron Krauch answered:
Realtors know those estimates are notoriously inaccurate. When you do eventually sell, the online estimates will mean nothing to appraisers, Realtors and eventual buyers.

If you'd like to know what your home's value really is, contact a local real estate broker. They can give you accurate information to help guide your remodeling decisions.

Good Luck!
