I live in Bedford and have almost all of my life. There are really no bad parts of town here. There is not an area in Bedford that I would feel unsafe at any time of day or night.

I would personally stay away from the apartment complex's off of Bedford Rd. I helped a client purchase an estate that had previously lived the Woods of Bedford, they had drug arrests weekly with Narcotic Teams kicking in doors... I think the last stay for him was certainly the teenager throwing gas on the sidewalk in the middle of the night :O. It just goes to show it helps to have the help of a neighborhood expert, at first glance you would of never thought, you know? Other than that depending on your sales price I would try to stay North of 183 to hold a stronger resale value, a lot does depend on price points though.

Having lived and worked in Bedford since 1981 I have good reson to believe that it is a safe city, the police department and fire department are very well staffed, The Mayor and City Counsel support both departments. Both are well trained and repond to every call for service. The men and women are dedicated to serving the people.

I disagree and agree at the same time. I too live in Bedford and as far as the cities total curb appeal it places high in my own eyes and many others. As far as resale purposes I would attempt to stay north of HWY. 183, nothing against the area however market value tends to hold less in this sector of Bedford. The obvious perks to Bedford are the schools, location and the fact you are right next door to Colleyville. In Colleyville for example $200k + might not find you much however in Bedford $200k would certainly find you a beautiful estate with a great deal of personality for the price. If you're still seeking a local agent that can guide you in the right direction feel free to contact me, thank you.

I would guess Bedford overall is about as safe a place as any other in the Metroplex.
You might want to check with the police department or neighbors for their opinion.
In my opinion Bedford is a pretty good place to live....small town in the middle of the big city.
Good hospital...nice parks....nice amenities and a great location.
