My fellow Realtors are correct. We are not allowed to steer you in or out of any neighborhood, but there are web sites designed to give you information on education, crime stats, inspections, airports-- and much more. Please see the Arizona Buyer Advisory below for this information. Congrats on your willingness and desire to purchase in Phoenix's real estate market. According to MLS data, 85326, is one of the top 20 zip code for 2010 in Maricopa County! Should you have more questions or concerns, feel free to contact me.

Anna is correct, Realtors cannot determine if a neighborhood is a good area for children or discuss crime statistics with you (among other things). You will want to research crime statistics, schools, tax rates, location of registered sex offenders, and any other matters that are of concern to you independently. All of this information is available on line, just do a quick Google search. I often recommend driving and walking the neighborhood yourself to talk with neighbors and get the 'vibe' of the community.
Good luck in your home search!

Since, real estate professionals are prohibited from steering, enticing a buyer to purchase, or not, in specific neighborhoods, check out area statistics--if you are concerned about crime, visit/contact the local police department, ask all your questions and hear all there is to hear firsthand. If not to familiar with the area, do visit more than once and at different times of day--drive around, possibly chat with locals, check out everything that is important to you and then make your determination--keep in mind that opinions are often subjective, therefore research on your own beforehand.
