The Charlotte Mecklenburg government website,, has a lot of great information about our local government. In particular, if you search for “crime,” you will find lots of valuable information, including crime statistics for each district. will map all crimes by zip code or address.

Once you come to Charlotte to look for homes, the best way to really find out about crime is to go to the local police department and just ask.

I am very familiar with that area of Charlotte. I feel it offers one of the best values in Charlotte, while still offering plenty of amenities and convenience to Uptown Charlotte and the major interstates.

Please let me know if I can assist you further in your search.

Hi Laura,

I live in that area and I am also an Allstate agent. It is a nice area you may also want to lookin the 28278 zipcode, there are some newer subdivisions there. If I can help in anyway let me know, and welcome to Charlotte.

This is a very easy to read web site to show you the crime rate in your desired area:

This area is also in my own backyard as I live 2 miles away from there.

I would also look into the sites Susan has listed as they are very reliable.

The best resource for this information is the local police department or county sheriff's department. they have access to the most reliable and up to date information and are normally very wiling to be helpful.

Good luck
