Thank you for your question:

Grace Morioka gave you an excellent answer.

I have clients who live in the neighborhood. They are very happy with the neighborhood.

I have found that one of the best ways to tell whether or not you will like the neighborhood is to knock on the doors of some of the neighbors and tell them that you are thinking of moving to the neighborhood and ask the neighbors about their experiences in the neighborhood and ask them what they like about the neighborhood and what, if anything that they do not like about the neighborhood.

That will give you an excellent idea whether this is the neighborhood for you.

Thank you,

Hi Kumaril:

Thanks so much for your post. Realtors are prevented from making judgments about a neighborhood's demographics, safety, family status, etc., so we cannot "rate" any area for safety or give you any impressions of the safety of any neighborhood.

Thankfully, however, there are websites that will collate the information for you so that you can see what reports have been made to the police. You can review to see the police activity in the area and also, which is a state site that complies with the requirements of Megan's Law.

If you have any questions about a specific property or you're thinking of buying, one of the best sources for information will come directly from the homeowners in the area. Knock on the doors of the neighbor's homes and ask them questions directly about the safety of the neighborhood and how they like living in the area. This is one of the best ways to get to 'know' the community--from its members!

Good luck!

Hello Kumaril,

You can check some of the websites for crime in the area, also check with the local police station.
You can search on for the crime reports. Drive around the neighborhood at different times of the day. Your realtor can help you with a tour of the area. Hope this helps.
