Yes, checking with the Police is always a good idea in any area you may be moving to. My family moved to South Orange 9 years ago and I will say that I have never had any incident of concern. The Police force, first aid squad and fire department in this community are first rate. I would suggest a visit to this special village which is also home to Seton Hall University.

Your best bet is to contact the local police department. Ask for Chief Chelel. I checked the websites suggested by the previous contributor and the figures look quite off to me. This has been a problem in the past......websites reporting unreliable information. You're always best off going straight to the source.

I suggest you contact the local police department. They will be a reliable source of statistics for you.
