There are a few great resources around. I think it is best to contact your Community Resource Officer or CRO at the police department. Just call the main non-emergency number and ask to be connected to the CRO. They’re normally very aware of the good and bad areas of the area and can normally give you local statistics. You can also check out which provides stats based on the FBI uniform crime reports. You might also visit the FBI stats site at Another place to checkout is . Hope this is of you to you.

Check with our local law enforcement, but every town has some levels of crime even the really small town of Eagle, Colorado were I was from. That town only had 8,000 people in it. Charlotte and Sarasota Counties are nice area. You have older homes to brand new never lived in. In all areas of our Counties.
Come and check it out for yourself would be my suggestion. Any other questions please Email me at

Good morning Lenny,
Charlotte County has had an historically low crime rate. The national average is about 100, Personal Crime here is about 47 and Property Crime 32. We think the quality of life here in Charlotte County is second to none and encourage you to come see for your self. This is a boating area with canals woven through many neighborhoods that empty into the Peace River or Charlotte Harbor. The boating is fabulous, golf plentiful and fishing is great

i would also contact the local sherriff and or police department to see what the crime rate is. Always back out the white collar crime.
