When it comes to any safety/crime related issues, it's always best to contact the local police department with all your questions, hear all there is to hear firsthand. If unfamiliar with the area(s) do revisit more than once and at different times of day, possibly chat with locals/neighbors. Real estate professionals are prohibited from steering, enticing a buyer to purchase, or not, in specific neighborhoods.

Troy is right, calling the Police Dept. gives you a direct resource for checking on crime. A website some of my buyer's have used is http://spotcrime.com/wi/milwaukee. This site shows crime by specific areas.

Many neighborhoods have neighborhood watch committee. Check in with the police department, they can give you further details. Usually there are signs up in the neighborhoods also.

If you'd like any information on what homes are available please feel free to contact me or check my website for available properties.
Good luck in your home search!

If you are seeking detailed crime information for any specific area or neighborhood your local police department would be able to provide that information. If you are referring to the Midtown area off of W. Capitol (the old Capitol Court mall) then the in information you seek would be available from the Milwaukee Police Dept District 7. They are located on roughly 3600 W. Fond Du Lac, phone of 414-935-7272.

If you are looking for properties in that area or would like detailed information on home values and trends I'd be happy to provide that information!
