Each city tracks these statistics. As agents, we must lead you to the source (ie. the police web site). In Scottsdale, for example, the site is: http://www.scottsdaleaz.gov/Page207.aspx

Google "(city name) crime statistics."

Here you can see plenty of information on crime linked to a map of the city. You can then locate any home you are interested in and see the crime activity (if any).

I am a mother looking to relocate to the Phoenix, AZ area. I currently reside in the Saint Louis, MO area. We've visited Arizona for the first time just a few weeks ago, we visited Tucson for three weeks and absolutely loved it. Waking up to the sun rising over the mountains, hiking up the mountains were amazing. To add, my daughter is fluent in Spanish so that is an added bonus.

I am making this move for the betterment of our future. I am in search of neighborhoods that are full of diversity, the crime rate is little to none and that offers a great school district. (My daughter will be going to the 4th grade 2014-2015 when we relocate).

Thank you to all that comment

The best source of information is always the local police department--if you're looking to buy in the near future, why not narrow down your search by a couple of zip codes--then visit the police departments, ask all your questions and you will be happy to have heard all the information firsthand.

Dear MGrover:

Good question. This information is not easy to find in one place without searching on individual city websites and then comparing.

I do have a Map, although it is about 6 years old that shows the converse, the top 10 highest crime areas by zip code. If you wish to see that feel free to contact me and I will email it to you.

Generally, the reports that I have seen show the zip codes in Central to South Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, and Northeast Phoenix to be among the lowest crime areas.

If I can help you, just ask.

Regards, Jeff

Hi there!

I think to best answer your question is to look at the Buyers Advisory.

The Arizona Association of REALTORS, in cooperation with the Arizona Department of Real Estate, developed an online “Buyer Advisory” containing a great deal of information for home buyers.

The “Buyer Advisory” explains home conditions that should beinvestigated and will direct you, the buyer, to sources of additional information on the Internet. Although every buyer and every home is different and the physical conditions requiring investigation will vary, the “Buyer Advisory” addresses the most common concerns.

To check the crime statistics for the cities of Phoenix, Tempe, Glendale, Mesa, Scottsdale, Chandler, Gilbert and Peoria, go to http://www.faxnet1.org or the city of Phoenix website http://www.phoenix.gov/APPINTRO/crimesta.html.

Please take time to review the attached link to “Buyer Advisory” as soon as possible. Do not hesitate to contact me with any and all questions or concerns you may have.

All the best,
