I lived at 72 Winfield for many years and always felt safe. Its got a really good family vibe and the neighbors are active in keeping that way.

I have never felt unsafe in Bernal Heights, day or night. Crime that I have seen/experienced is not at all rampant, and mostly takes the form of minor vandalism to cars or property...a very little tagging, rare occurrences of bent wiper blades or car antennae, and the like. In my 10+ years in the neighborhood, I have seen a few cases of parked cars getting nicked by incautious drivers in the narrow streets.
