Safe areas in Virginia Beach for a family to live in.

Asked by Vassilis Apostolidis, Virginia Beach, VA Fri Jul 23, 2010

I am relocating to Virginia Beach in Jan. 2011 and I am looking for a single family home to rent.
What is very important for both of us i.e. my wife and me is how safe it will be the area of our new home.
Any suggestions?

Congratulations in advance on your move. It is a wonderful place to live (I'm a 37 year resident). I would be glad to send you a relocation package and include a map of the area to help you get familiar. My website includes links to crime stats and family watchdog.

I would love a relocation package. Not sure what I would qualify for a loan for a home but I would love to learn more about the surrounding area and the best place to move to. I need all the help I can get.

If you are concerned about safety, your best source of reliable and current information is the local police department--consider a visit/call, ask all your questions and hear all there is to hear firsthand--they'll gladly help.
