My company is looking into opening a store in University Plaza Tampa, FL 33613, (intersection of E. Fletcher

Asked by Josh, Tampa, FL Sun Aug 10, 2008

& Bruce B Downs). In the plaza there is a Dots, Ross, TJ Max, Office Max, Target, Petsmart and Shoe Carnival. Can anyone shed any light on this center? Is the crime bad? Do you shop there? Where do you go to shop? Any help would be greatly appreciated. THX

The type of business you want to operate will determine the best location in relation to foot traffic.
You may even be able to be in a strip mall where the anchor store is a Publix etc.
There are a lot of college students that frequent University Plaza because of USF just down the road.
Personally, I prefer International Plaza, Westshore or Brandon Mall.

Brandon has recently completed another new section with some higher end stores. Have you seriously done a demographic study to support your decision other than just focusing on the crime rate?

Josh, I would be more then willing to help. You have so many variables here, it would be best to contact me direct. I do shop there, but we have 2 huge malls going in, just up BBD, that will probably put a hurting on many of the stores in there, depending on what type they are. Some will be fine and others not so much. Like I said, many different variables. Contact me to further discuss. Thanks.
