Interesting how this question is coming up for those "moving into" the community. Ask someone who has lived there for the last 20 years or so, ask the community. Safety can be a factor anywhere but I don't suppose the cause for concern would come up if your move was to Mill Basin.
Agents can't validly respond to a question like this unless they reside in the area. Your information is paperbased only.

Anything can happen anywhere, best advice I can give is Trust God, pray every day for protection and be smart. If you don't feel she may be safe then maybe you can meet her at the train station to pick her up and walk home together. But, honestly I think she'll be safe but again if you can try to meet her and pick her up. Jeannette batsikas

I think she should be fine. I"ve lived on Bergen St. bet. Kinston and Albany Avenues for 8 years now. I'm a female and sometimes I have to leave for work early and sometimes I get home very late. Although anything can happen no matter where you are, just get to know the neighborhood I think you may like it.

Thank you for your answer. I saw the box cutter rape story today. Disturbing but We are praying.

When it comes to any safety/crime related issues, it's always best to contact the local police department with all your questions, hear all there is to hear firsthand. If unfamiliar with the area(s) do revisit more than once and at different times of day, possibly chat with locals/neighbors. Real estate professionals are prohibited from steering, enticing a buyer to purchase/rent, or not, in specific neighborhoods.
