I've been living here 15 years and love it. I'm only selling my house because I'm an empty nester. I love Monroe, love Orange County. Lovely, peaceful area. I live on a cul-de-sac that's absolutely beautiful. If you are looking to buy, I have a beautiful 3 bedroom bi-level ranch, in-ground pool, fenced in yard, new kitchen (granite counter tops, bathrooms, siding, garage doors....) Let me know if you are interested. Good luck.

Financially safe? YES. It's one of the lowest price points this distance from NYC, with highly rated schools. Is it safety safe, like is there a lot of crime? this is Amazingly safe. come here and you will see.

Well, let me answer your question this way: We moved from a nice Queens NY neighborhood to Monroe permanently(I had a seasonal home here for a number of years) about 30 years ago with two small kids. They flourished here, both went to college and both have good careers and family. You can get all the crime statistics and school statistics from the web.I just gave you a real-life story......mine.

You should call and ask the local police dept as to the crime rate. The same for the school systems. There are sites on the web that will give you both ! Some municipalities will also give other breakdowns, such as , household income etc. Call me with any further questions. 845-507-2848.

When it comes to any safety/crime related issues, it's always best to contact the local police department with all your questions, hear all there is to hear firsthand. If unfamiliar with the area(s) do revisit more than once and at different times of day, possibly chat with locals/neighbors. Real estate professionals are prohibited from steering, enticing a buyer to purchase/rent, or not, in specific neighborhoods.
