Same thing as your other Crime question, we are not allowed to comment. Here are the links and please consider reading the buyers advisory.

Phoenix has a lot to offer in the way of historic neighborhoods. Encanto is just one of several beautifully restored areas. Many of the homes in these districts were built in the 1920s and before and have been returned to their original glory. You may also want to check out the Willo, Coronado and LQ Story districts as well. They are all close to downtown.

Todd-- You are referring to the Encanto-Palmcroft Historic District, which is fabulous. Brick Commons is in the Encanto Village--a planning subdivision in the City of Phoenix-- which is not the same thing. That said, Brick Commons is adjacent to the Phoenix Country Club (another very desirable area), and the La Hacienda Historic District (lovely) and the Coronado and Country Club Park Historic Districts. Brick Commons is also pretty walkable to Central Avenue and the light rail, so it could be a good choice for that reason too.

Because of the architectural and historic beauty of the Encanto area it has continued to be a neighborhood in high demand. First built for the high society of Phoenix, it remains a neighborhood for professionals and the elite. The Willo Historic District to the east of the Encanto area has seen a rebirth as buyers are remodeling and preserving the timeless beauty of the homes in this neighborhood as well.

But the questions is what does "a good area" mean to you? That is subjective.

If interested, here is a nice interactive tool to use for viewing crimes via map.

You can select different layers to view on the map. Check it out!

Hi Evelyn,

Thanks for all the good questions here. I am a BIG fan of downtown Phoneix. So much good is happening in this region one can't help but be excited, especially with the announcement of the new biomedical company moving to the area.

As I mentioned in a past comment, a tour of an area is a great way to see and learn about it. I'd be delighted to take you on a downtown tour and show you what is happening and how the different areas are performing. Just let me know by email and I'll make it happen on my end.

Best to you... Gene Urban
