If a home has been used for a meth lab, is it seized by the goverment or is it up tp the owner to clean it

up? In this certain case that i'm asking about the house was in a nice neiborhood with a 300k mortgage.

It's up to the owner who purchases it. You will be better off bulldozing it and rebuilding, otherwise you will have to disclose that it was a meth lab when you attempt to resell it.

Be very wary about this. In most areas meth lab locations are considered toxic waste sites, which means that any home you purchase in this condition may not be habitable. Consult a local Realtor and check all the legal restrictions before you do anything.
