I see that there are deals on homes in McCalla but it seems that crime is bad there. Anyone from there?

Real estate agents are not allowed to comment on whether or not a neighborhood is good or bad. That is research that you would need to do on your own. There are a Federal Fair Housing Laws that prohibit that from happening. It is up to the individual to make their own determination about a specific area. Should a real estate agent comment on such a thing, it could be steering which is a prohibited act.

Determining how good or bad a school is, or how crime is, or anything else similar needs to be researched on your own.

Some websites to try include:

I live in Mc Calla and love it here!! The McAdory school system is exceptional and safe and there are always sheriff deputy around. In our neighborhood of meadowridge we have a neighborhood watch program and all are very active in it. In fact, we have two law enforcement officers with units in their driveways that live here. I feel totally safe!!! Hope that helps you.

The local police department has a Crime Prevention Officer or a Community Liason Officer who can give you crime rates and tell you whether the numbers they are providing are high or low for the community.

Additionally, google "Megans Law" for a website address that will allow you to identify all the sex offenders around a specific address.

Good luck!

I have lived in the McCalla area for over 20 years. There haven't been any drive-by's, bank robberies or school lockdowns as long as I have been in this community. I only hear of the occasional breaking in a house or lawn equipment is stolen. If you are considering moving here, you won't be disappointed.
