It's a nice area with a manned security gate. There are some foreclosures/short sales available also. Send me an email at theallegianceteam@gmail.com along with some specifics of your criteria and I'll send you what's available. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi Diane,

Plans have changed, but I was planning on buying a home there since my son got a job in the area. He is getting married next year and wanted us to be closer as they hope to start a family soon. However, our daughter just moved back to California, so we are going to stay put, as we also love Palm Springs. Thank you for your reply.

Like many cities all over America you have to always be aware of your surroundings. As recommended by others its best to come visit the area. I have lived here more than 40 years and would be happy to assist you, just provide me with a few days notice you are coming. Best regards, DIana

I like Lakes of Laguna, but before choosing a community to buy in, I recommend you come for few days and visit different communities.

Rob- There are alot of good pointers given here Permit me to add more!

First -With any large "Development" here in South Florida there usually
are "sub-divisions " with different unique characteristics .There are 5
"sub-divisions" in Lakes of Laguna each different in structures, lot size
and setting !
The master Association at Lakes of Laguna has a 24/7 Mobile Security
patrol and monitored video of key "common areas". Each sub-division
is seperated by "green-belts" and/or water . All this impacts on Security
along with other issues. In short the "manned Gate " is only part of the
You will find the report function on my "community Info": page helpful to

It is a nice community, just as safe as many otheres around there. Several websites like Zillow and Trulia show the crime activity in specific areas.

You can subscribe for free to crimereports.com, input an address in Lakes of Laguna, and you will receive lists any day there are nearby traffic reports, alarms go off, robberies, domestic disputes, etc. As one of the agents said below, call the local precinct and ask for a report of crimes in that area for at least the last 30 days.

The manned gate in this community is a big deterrant. Also inquire about communities that surround this one.

If you would like assistance in finding a wonderful home that meets your criteria. I will show you homes in Lakes of Laguna and other areas that fit your criteria.

Best wishes,

So much really depends on what you are looking for in an area and a home for you and your family. If you are looking for a single family home built since 2000 with a price point below $200,000 with easy access to downtown Lakes of Laguna is worth a look. We have had 19 sales in the community over the past year with a median sales price of $145,000 and we currently have 10 active listings with a median list price of $149,400 so the metrics are still good for finding a great deal. If you are looking for an area with excellent beach access it may not be as great of fit.

As with many communities built during the period Lakes of Laguna was constructed there is plenty of pre-foreclosure and foreclosure activity. The very best thing you can do is clearly identify your housing goals and work with an agent who can immediately notify you of new opportunities that match those needs as the best deals tend to go quickly, very quickly.

I hope this information is helpful but if you need anything additional please do not hesitate to give me a call.

When it comes to any safety/crime related issues, it's always best to contact the local police department with all your questions, hear all there is to hear firsthand. If unfamiliar with the area(s) do revisit more than once and at different times of day, possibly chat with locals/neighbors. Real estate professionals are prohibited from steering, enticing a buyer to purchase, or not, in specific neighborhoods.
