When it comes to any safety/crime related issues, it's always best to contact the local police department with all your questions, hear all there is to hear firsthand. If unfamiliar with the area(s) do revisit more than once and at different times of day, possibly chat with locals/neighbors. Real estate professionals are prohibited from steering, enticing a buyer to purchase/rent, or not, in specific neighborhoods.

If I were thinking about moving to a neighborhood and wanted first hand information about the safety in that area, I would drive through the neighborhood at different times of the day and late afternoon...maybe the weekends too. When you see someone out in their yard, stop and ask them about their community and if they like living there. Then ask them if they feel it is safe and if there is a lot of criminal activity. Most people will be honest and give you their opinions. is a good source for specific information in a community as well. I would be happy to help you in your search for a home. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or would like to go look at homes, I would suggest getting a pre-approval letter from a lender before you begin your search. The market is moving fast and when you find the right home you will want to have all the necessary documents together. This will increase your chances of getting the home you want if other buyers are also making an offer.
