These communities are so close that you'll likely see no negligible difference in this and most other features. With this said, consulting with the local police or sheriff's department should provide you with the detailed information you require.

Charlotte County in genera is a low crime area. You can compare Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda crime statistics by going to the sheriff and police department web sites. That is your best source for crime statistics. If you have a particular property in mind, I can send you the neighborhood report which provide crime statistics.
