Collection agency needs be contacted you have paid the org. creditor. should be delected from your files. HOWEVER strange that org. creditor would take payment CONSIDERING they sold the debt and wrote it off their books.

If you paid the original creditor, have a receipt, but still show as unsatisfied on your credit report, do dispute the charges and if necessary provide the credit bureau with a copy of the receipt--see links---

You do not need to pay anyone to assist you. pull a copy of your 3 credit reports, you can then dispute the collection listings on your report. They will have 30 days to validate the debt, if tehy can not they have to remove it. if they do you will want to forward your release letter to each credit bureau.
