Hi Eric,
The 92881 zipcode which is The Mountain gate area is home to many good schools such as santiago High school. It is one of the top 3 HS in Corona. You can always contact the local elementary and Jr HS and ask to attend a PTA meeting and get a pulse on what is going on in the school. It will help to get to know some parents. I have lived in Corona for 24 yrs and have raised my kids here and am very happy.

2009 John F. Kennedy Middle College High
2008 Benjamin Franklin Elementary
2008 Eisenhower Elementary
2008 Lincoln Alternative Elementary
2008 Prado View Elementary
2008 Temescal Valley Elementary
2006 Corona Ranch Elementary
2005 Corona Senior High
2005 Santiago High
2004 Lincoln Alternative Elementary
2003 Norco High
2003 Norco Intermediate
2002 Susan B. Anthony Elementary
1999 Corona Fundamental Intermediate
1994 Centennial High
1992 Corona Fundamental Intermediate
1989 Riverview Elementary
1988 Letha Raney Junior High
1987 Jefferson Elementary
1987 Sierra Vista Elementary

In addition, CNUSD is home of the International Baccalaureate Program:
See link:

On top of all that, recent recognition for a some local schools have included:
Centennial HS football team ranked 43rd out of 100 nationwide in 2011 -
Santiago HS marching band to march in the 2013 Rose Parade -,_California)

As in any school you will find good and bad, however I have been happy with my three children's progress from K-12. Many families have moved here from outlying areas specifically to have their children attend CNUSD.

On another note: I have clients with your last name (which is not common) and am curious if you have any relatives in Riverside County? I'd love to chat...

My kids were not in the Santiago boundries. but that is where they went and graduated.
I had to drive them to school though. My daughter graduated and is year away from getting her college degree. My son, was recruited into the Muslim religion at Santiago high school. The Muslim student union is active on that campus.
He ran away from home in his junior year to live with a Muslim family and never graduated. All my protests to the administration were ignored until I went away. I did not see my son again until after he turned 18 years old. I am still very angry at the school. They conveniently re-write the history of this incident to put them selves in a good light.
They allowed the Muslim student union to meet in the library.

Due to the fact that schools fill to compacity at times, your best answer is to contact the school district at 951-736-5000. You most likely can get a "move continuance" to have your children remain in the same schools.
Hopefully this helps! Feel free to call me for further inquiries.

Thanks for the info. I am looking more info. on following schools
elementary - Rosa Parks Elementary School
middle - River Heights
high - Roosevelt HS

I am from India and really confused on how the schools considered good. Is it API's ? If so all of the Corona schools have API' s below 700 ,.Does this mean students do not have better chance getting into Universities.
Or is it the ethnic ity spread in a school district which decides about the schools under a school district. That is what I have been seeing when I see the schools in Fullerton area or Torrance area.

Any feedback will be much appreciated.

Tracy, The Great Schools website has a nationwide ranking system that can help answer your question.
Here is the link:

The Grea Schools site was awarded with the 2007 peoples voice award and is really beneficial because it allows parents just like you to make comments about the schools.

Schools are so important, and their ratings are a great indicator of what is going on in a community as well.

Thanks for your question and I hope this helps!
