Sorry about the situation you are in. Here is the latest, in addition to answers given below.
IF YOU HAVE A LOAN REMODIFICATION IN PROCESSING AT YOUR BANK, current law says you cannot be closed upon while the loan remodification is being processed! Do this- Call the NC Commissioner of Banks (Bankers) immediately Monday morning (holiday?), give them your information to include the bank's name and clerk of court's number. By the time you can drive to the clerk of court, some at NCBofBanks will have called and read them the law. You will then have 90 days to do something. I have had clients refinance with Quicken Loans, for instance, in 2 weeks, if all is well otherwise. www.nccob.org and check Consumer Assistance.
