I sadly have not had any help or luck. You certainly will not get any where with a large apartment complex because you are a number and they are not willing to bend or negotiate to help at all. Your best bet is to find someone who is looking to rent out a private residence they are certainly more likely to be understanding and willing to help such as accepting extra monies down and see you as a person down on their luck as oppossed to larger companies. Good Luck, Im in the same boat right now myself. ... more

Your best bet for finding a section 8 rental is to check the direct list available at the section 8 office. Often times listings will be posted there. Also, a quick search of Craigslist in the area you are looking for with section 8 in the search terms will bring up a lot of great property results. ... more

Offer to pay 6 months up front that may help. Make sure you don't smoke or have pets or it will be harder.

Try this site be sure to use lower case letters

Also try this site: CMHA click on the tenants list. You will see properties listed by section 8

Landlords. Just follow the instructions from there on. If you get to speak with a live person,

be sure to ask them if they know of others who are accepting S 8.

I hope this information will help you .
