As you know, both the buyer and seller agencies each get paid 1/2 the commission usually (50% to Buyer Agency then split with their agent; 50% to Seller Agency then split with their agent). In many cases the Seller's (owner's) agency will require its agent to still pay the company the portion of the commission due them or some part. In other cases, as a company benefit to its agents, they might forgo their portion, too, which in fact, would mean that the seller / agent would only pay 1/2 commission to sell her house (all of which would go to the buyer's agency ... more
