Columbia is great. Almost everything you need is within a five mile radius and BWI is conveniently close by as well. Lisa, we're just getting Energy Star homes built in our area, and some are more-so than others. We also have some homeowners who are retrofitting existing homes -- anywhere from tankless water heaters and Energy Star appliances to geothermal heating systems. Meanwhile -- having worked with so many buyers coming here from out-of-state -- I've got lots of questions to ask you! What kind of community would you like: urban, suburban, small town, rural? Where do you need to be for jobs, schools, distance to shopping and medical care? Would you like to be in a concert hall in less than 30 minutes? Do you play sports and want to be near a club team? How long of a commute is too long? Do you travel a lot and need to be near an airport?

You might start by going to, and clicking on the Life in Maryland section to see some of the things to see and do here, and to get familiar with the areas. I relocate new neighbors all over the state (did I mention I'm a native?) through a great network of experienced agents, so will be glad to help you look in different areas as you narrow down your focus. Just let me know at or 410-715-2703.
