For the most part, Columbia SC is safe as a whole. Areas like Wildewood and Lake Carolina are monitored and have a roving security and/or video surveillance to deter crime. Wildewood contains a country club with golf, tennis, and swim. More of an "old money" type area. Lake Carolina is newer and has modern amenities. ... more

We have owned a Mungo home here in Lexington SC for 14 years this May and have never had problems with the home. Shortly after we moved in we noticed a drainage problem between our home and our neighbors. Mungo came out right away and dug a french drain and to this day it works perfectly, no more drainage problems. We visited often when the home was being built so we know we have a good deal of insulation and the house is very sound. We purchased a patio home for retirement and we enjoy the neighborhood very much. The staff at Mungo were wonderful. When we went to the closing we were treated as if we were buying a million dollar home. I would not hesitate to buy another Mungo home. ... more

Are you wanting to close on your home and move at the end of April? The best thing is to first get pre-approved so that you know what price range you would need to be looking in. If you're wanting to close at the end of April I would say start looking around the end of February. As a Buyer Specialist I focus only on Buyers and would be glad to help you through the process. Message me if you would like to touch base with some specifics on what you will be looking for in a house. I can give you some additional resources that will be helpful.

Take care,
Anne Newsome
