Sorry to be of bad news but NOBODY I use to house felons because of this issue and my son is one as well....Felons are judged. I have a CH13 and cant rent either. The only advise I can provide is GHETTO hard core....that was my last resort and that is where I am now.....Amazing how rental companies have the right to judge and take your money for ap fees and than turn you down....1 yr ago I spent over 1600.00 in ap fees and ended up in the GHETTO...

Sorry for the bad news....but been there done that....qualify for a home loan but cant rent...cant buy til I save money so have to rent makes no sense

However I was told the further south you go the easier will be to find a place....try brookside st E of Nevada.....

How familiar are you with "Rent to Own" or "Seller Financing" situations? This is not very common these days, since we are now in a pretty hot seller's market. Most sellers want to SELL, not rent to a qualified buyer. Rent to own was never a good option for buyers. It was primarily an option for buyers who couldn't qualify for a normal mortgage and for sellers who were desperate to sell.

The for sale listings you see here on Trulia are not up to date. And the for rent listings are full of scams. I'd be happy to refer you to an agent in the Co Springs area.

This is a tough question to answer! There are many areas in town which are very safe! You can look at the Colorado Springs Police Dept website to get some ideas on police activity in areas of town. (http://www.springsgov.com/Page.aspx?NavID=208)
Again, there are lots of areas of town that are family oriented. I would say that Colorado Springs in general is very family focused. The cost of living is higher in certain areas, such as the Broadmoor, Pine Creek, Peregrine, etc. You can find good affordable housing in almost any area, depending on your needs. You will need a good Realtor that knows the areas to help you find the right place. Let me know if I can help and good luck in your search!

It may depend on how the home is rented. If it is being managed by a company, they may have strict standards that they use to qualify rental applicants. If the owner is managing the property, and you can provide some solid references, you may be able to rent with them.

I hope that helps!

anytime you see a so called "listing" that seems too good to be true (it isn't true!), or they ask you for personal information, or to wire money........go to the listing and FLAG is as FRAUDULENT.

There is a "flag" option located under the address - use the drop down list and click on "fraud" - trulia will remove it
