Jay Thomas asked:
Any idea what I should charge monthly? What are similar properties charging for studios. I know there is a lot of construction in downtown Denver but still plenty of $ to make on a rental.

What type of investment property? (single family home, or multi unit like duplex, triplex, quad, etc.)? Also what do you mean by "affordable"? Feel free to contact me directly with more info, and I'd be happy to help.

I would suggest the north east metro area such as Thornton, Northglenn and even Brighton. Also eastern Denver such as Aurora. Still lots of good opportunties for single family homes in that price range. Feel free to contact me and I'll create a search for you in the MLS.

If you work for such a company, don't you think you'd do a better job for your clients by actually contacting a local REALTOR who specializes in that area? (and NOT using a mediocre website such as Trulia??) This is just a marketing website and doesn't necessarily have the most up to date listings. Nor does it really have the ability to thoroughly search properties for specific criteria, nor the ability to "save" listings.

I'm from the Aspen area and know many many well-qualified agents up there. Please feel free to contact me directly and I'd be happy to put you in touch with some of the best agents in that market.

Julie Montgomery answered:
Aurora near the hospital is an outstanding place to invest. Real estate in that community is probably the least expensive in town. It is by no means "hip," but I think you'll see a huge ROI over the next 5-10 years if not sooner.

Buy a rental -- there are a ton of young residents who will pay top dollar to live close to work.

Alan May answered:
Why don't we ignore, for the moment, the person's career choice, and repeat your question?

"Is it legal for a person to bid on, and purchase a bank owned foreclosure to re-sell for profit?"

If the bank doesn't have a problem with it, nor a clause that states that the property can't be re-sold within X months, then "yes". The person's profession is irrelevant.
