My son has a very nice 3 bedroom in Owasso that he just remodeled (new floors/carpet/paint, etc). If interested, call him at 918-693-9958. Leave a message if you do not reach him and he will get back. It is just going up for rent this week. Good location. ... more

This can be a very sticky situation for the real estate professional you originally hired to represent you. It is partly their fault for not educating you as the client about how important it is for them to be present when you are viewing homes.

If the "agent" in the model home is not licensed and just works for the builder, it may be less of an issue. But if it is another real estate professional, they could get into an ugly battle about who is entitled to the real estate commission, since the "agent" who is representing the builder is the one who originally showed you the home.

Sometimes, the builder refuses to pay a real estate commission, unless the real estate professional you are working with first registers you as a buyer. But since you went to go look at the home without the real estate professional you desired to represent you, then a lot of issues could potentially arise as it surrounds the real estate professional you are working with. Of course, this has nothing to do with you buying the home, and more to do with the politics of the transaction.

Once again, I'm sure you didn't know. But real estate is sometimes a cut throat business, and it is up to the real estate professional to educate you about client and real estate professional "etiquitte" to protect their commission earned on the sale.

You will need to discuss this with the real estate professional you hired to assist you. I hope it works out!
