Just a note to check in with you and see if you were able to get the mineral rights in your purchase?
Some properties have them, some don't.
Is there drilling in your area?
For a long time in organized developments we often thought the owners did not have the mineral rights. We always thought either the farmer kept them, or if not the developer got them.
But that is not always true.

Investment properties are my forte. I sell more investment properties than anyone in town...for a reason! I know the model. With that said, there is never a perfect time to buy a condo or town home. Generally during the summer our market gets saturated with single family homes, townhomes and condos so you might be able to get a better deal then. Let me know if I can help you! ... more

If you are working at, or attending, Texas A&M, you can open up your search and find apartments that are along the FREE Texas A&M shuttle lines. Check out the Texas A&M website for the various shuttles that run back and forth from campus. If you have school aged children, you will want to focus on apartments in the College Station Independent School District (CSISD) which is to the east and south of campus. Otherwise, if your child(ten) are not school age, or you will opt for Charter or Private schooling, then you can look at the apartments in Bryan, which is north of campus.

There are some apartments on Anderson Ave., at Southwest Pkwy., along the shuttle route, that go for $525+ a month for a 2 bedroom, 1 bath, with washer and dryer hookups. You could also look into duplexes, a 2 bedroom, 1.5 bathroom, will go for around $650 to 725 along Southwest Pkwy. Both of these locations are about one mile south of campus, and in the South Knoll Elementary school boundary. If you have school aged children, attending the local public school, you can find many apartments within walking distance of South Knoll Elementary. You can also find find rentals in the local newspaper The Eagle: http://www.theeagle.com as well as craigslist for College Station: http://collegestation.craigslist.org as well as checking Trulia regularly. Good luck!
