One's client base does not grow in numbers without hard work on the agent's part, as well as attention to detail in all facets of the transition, from contract negotiations to closing. So for this reason, I recommend starting with someone that can attest to the agent's assertiveness and success. Once you have developed a familiarity and comfortableness with an agent, the agent will educate you on the process going forward, with goals of making the transition as smooth as possible for you.
