Hi Trent,

Great question- As other have mentioned below, this type of rating system is just another $$marketing$$ tool.

I rarely meet other agents who love both Zillow AND Trulia. For the most part it is one or the other. The reason is that Zillow and Trulia are such different platforms and conduct business in such different ways. I think if Trulia was to "copy" Zillow in that way they would probably end-up loosing...I hope Trulia can stay as true as possible even in its search for profit... ... more

I assume you are meaning a workshop for agents on how to get the best results for their sellers by using Trulia. That would be helpful and I would do it.

I think there are many ways to successfully use a platform like Trulia- Lets focus on one aspect:

Lets face it, the real estate industry is a “people business” to a great extent. Meaning most buyers and sellers do not chose a real estate agent based on credentials or track record alone but on emotions also and how well they connect with an agent.

Trulia is the perfect vehicle to develop our “brand” and this is possibly the best benefit we have ripped from using Trulia consistently in the last few years.

I cannot tell you how many times I call another broker/agent to make a showing appointment on their listings and after providing my name the agent goes something like that’ “ …are you the Cathy Chaudemanche (Team) on Trulia…. I see you everywhere, I love how you…”

This is one of the testimonial we received from another Trulia member:

“...I am in awe of how you handle people with kindness and consideration-not mocking people for dumb comments, congratulation good comments, not answering back when people are nasty to you and your helpfulness in general." -

Can you think of a better way to start a business relationship?

Think about it; there is no better way to start a business relationship with another agent/buyer/seller who already perceive you as a knowledgeable, helpful and professional Realtor. Priceless!
