I am the owner of 12107 ashland as of 1 march 2012. The things written under this box are hilarrious!!! Freedom of speech is a wonderful thing. I purchased it on a short sale and basically had it built from the ground up. the van in front of it was the contractor who did all of the work. All bricks tuck pointed, 2x4's put in and painted with kilv(to keep out mold), all new drywall put in, all house painted by me, Feldco put in my windows(did a great job!), Brand New heating system, kitchen new, brand new floors(3/4 inch thick; no squeaking). I grew up in this area and it is still a great neighborhood. There was a block party 2 months ago. Everyone around here just wants to live life and live in peace.
There are no ghost(lol)!!!! The Sinclaire's lived here before and this was the modle house for a few of the houses on this block. His wife babysat me and my brother. They were great people but had to move on.
I saw in Trulia's crimes report, it says some neighborhood has lots of: Larceny, vandalism, burglary, theft of lawn care equipments or other personal electronic items, accident to property like a car drove into a house/store/restaurant/business/govement building/warehouse, graffity, hardwood floor being scratch damaged so bad by moving furnitures; broken pipe burst due to no heat in house; copper pipe or wires in house being cut to sell,...etc...

Second, you want to determine your favorite neighborhoods and/or school districts.
Third, find an experienced broker (like myself) who can line up tours of the homes that fit what you are looking for.

Brighton Park is located on the southwest side of Chicag, 6 miles from downtown, and is characterized by the abundance of 2-3 unit buildings. Archer Avenue, originally an old Indian trail known as Plank Road, is the hub of commercial and retail business and is a great direct route to downtown, with buses running on a regular basis. If you drive, I-55 is conveniently close by. Kelly High School is located on California Ave, just south of Archer Avenue and is across the street from Kelly Park. There are a number of parochial schools in the neighborhood, as well as Shields Grammar School. Pope John Paul II visited Brighton Park a number of years ago and celebrated outdoor Mass at Five Holy Martyrs Church. If the HAFA papers are filed and the bank works with you it could happen as quick as 45 days after an offer has been accepted. There are lots of landmines in the way that have to be navigated.
