Hi Jess - I agree with Ceil, prices in Cheltenham are "reasonable", but the trade-off is the tax rate, which can be several hundred dollars/month higher than surrounding communities. Remember that there is more to a home purchase than just the price; and take everything, taxes and amenities included, into account when you evaluate a potential home. Cheltenham has much to offer - just make sure the whole package works for you.
As far as future home values go, it's impossible to say where we'll be 5-10 years for now, but you should evaluate the feel of the neighborhood you're interested in now. Are homes well kept? Is the community maintained? Check the municipal website for new projects, youth and recreational activities and general information. Work closely with your REALTOR to get as much information about the general area as possible. Good luck and please feel free to contact us with any questions. -Meg
