Kathy Burgreen answered:
Do yourself a huge favor. Stay in a cheap motel once you arrive in Charlotte, then look at rentals. If you sign a lease BEFORE you move to Charlotte, you are setting yourself up for scammers. Since you're not in Charlotte, realtors can photoshop pictures, lie about the neighborhood, lie about anything else that may be important to you. You won't discover these lies until after you arrive - then it's too late. Meanwhile you would have had to pay application fees, etc. to get that rental. That would be money lost.

By staying in a cheap motel, you can visit these rentals in person and not rely on some realtor who may lie to you. You will also need to rent a storage space. Money well spent than signing a lease and regretting it after you move in.

We just joined this forum and saw your question, did you make the move to this area yet? I can't believed that other agents did not reply to your questions back in June.
