You need to learn the reason has to do with liability insurance. Property owners are required to pay for homeowners insurance and it's very expensive for the landlord or owner to pay for liability for a tenant's pets. All insurance companies have a list of dog breeds they will NOT insure or will charge $$$ to insure those breeds. Pit bulls is one of the breeds on the "Do Not Insure" list. Therefore, it's much easier and cheaper for landlords and owners to have a "No Pets Allowed" notice or restrict pets that are covered by their insurance company.

What you CAN DO: Call several insurance companies and ask to pay for a pet insurance policy that covers pit bulls. Once you pay the premiums and have proof of coverage, any landlord will welcome you and give you a rental. The reason is if anything happens to somebody because of your pit bull, you will be sued in court. That is why you have insurance coverage.

I would like to know if anyone knows for sure that we could make an offer on the house since it is currently off the market, what is the asking price. Who would we contact?
