Pets may not be allowed, but that provision does NOT apply to Service Animals frequently dogs). Service dogs are Guide dogs for the blind,, Seizure Alert dogs, etc. These dogs have been trained to help their owners in such troubles. There is frequently no license fee for the, but they must be current on all necessary shots. Sometimes groomers and veterinarians give discounts, but that is no guarantee that you will get one. Petco, here in Olympia, WA, used to groom service dogs for free.
The state of Nevada a few years back offered to "certify" a service dog. The problem with that is that they had no WAY OF QUALIFYING the animal to see if it truly could do the deed it was supposedly certified for (another words it was a SCAM), Frequently, the dog licenser will license your service animal for free, providing you can prove it has had all its necessary shots in a timely manner. Some groomers and veterinarians will give discounted prices, but that's only a "maybe"; Petco, a store here in Olympia, WA used to give free groomings to service dogs, but they stopped doing that sometime between 2006 and 2010. any people claim to have a service dog" when the animal has not been trained or tested by The Delta group, which is located in Renton, WA. The Delta group also trains pet therapy animals for visiting nursing homes and hospitals to cheer up the residents. You can get a book from them (or possibly the bookstore or library) on the proper training of a Pet Therapy animal or Service Animal and get help from a qualified trainer. It isn't easy to turn an animal into a Pet Therapy animal or especially a Service Animal, and it is NOT legal to represent your simple (even lovable) pet as a service animal if it isn't one.
So question why the lease state two different "pet Policies" and beware being SCAMMED! You don't want to loose your down payments and deposits over a misprint whether deliberate or not.
