Yes, there is a small public beach in Southeast Cape Coral, located at the Yacht Club. It is a man-made beach on the Caloosahatche River. The park also maintains a playground, BBQ grills, bathrooms and a fishing pier. There are also free racquetball courts, tennis courts, shuffleboard courts, horseshoe pits, a swimming pool and public boat ramp. Stop in the community center to see what activities they have. If you get hungry there is a restaurant called KC's River stop. There is free parking and free boat parking along the seawall. If you need to fill up the boat with gas there is a fuel dock there as well.

There is also a newer small man-made beach overlooking the Bimini Basin, off of Cape Coral Pkwy between Coronado Pkwy and Santa Barbara Blvd. This is a sunbathing only beach, no boats allowed.

I am not sure how many answers regarding this question. Realtors open themselves up to liability in answering questions like this. Plus different people will have different opinions due to preference, which may not help you. However, I will recommend you do the following to answer this question.

1. Go to "Google Earth" and key in the address to get an ariel view where this property is located. This way, while living in Tucson, you will clearly see what is surrounding the home, whether it is nice homes, an industrial park, schools or just raw land.

2. Contact the local authorities regarding that part of Cape Coral to determine the safety of the area. (Easily Googled)

3. Go online and Google Cape Coral Fl demographics, for information about the Cape.

4. Google, "Lee County schools, Cape Coral FL. You want to look at the first two options on Google. The first is the official Lee County School web-site and the second option are the "school reports" on each school in the county.

5. Go to Cape Coral's official web-site at www.capecoral.net.

I hope this helps you in your search. If you are looking into purchasing a home or looking for financing in this area please contact me or go to www.Hope4HomeBuyers.ORG This site will give you more useful information to look for a home in the state of Florida.

It is our plan to see how the first 2 years go (upon finding a job)We have been sending resume after resume out to many online job banks. We have relatives who live there too. We have already investigated the move and it's cost. We are not planning to bring everything and have priced U-hauls already. It will probably be a bit before it happens / if it happens. Both of our husbands are loosing there jobs as the factory is closing very soon. We have placed resumes (over 200) in jobs here in michigan over the last 3 months. We have gotten no contacts. We are afraid of losing our home. Just looking other places for maybe better luck. Thanks for all your help everyone. The advice is great ! ... more

Dee, I think that answer would be different depending on what industry you are looking for. Retail stores are opening throughout the area, restaraunts as well! With tourism being our top industry you can always find work there! On the other hand if you are in the construction industry things will be a little tougher!
One thing I always say,"If you are good at what you do, you will always find work!" Have a great day!
