I would respectfully disagree with my colleague below, with the notation that you are unlikely to find such a place unless you are willing to drive your car to BART or Caltrain to give yourself the quiet you want.

If you are, there are plenty of quiet places near the city that a short drive and a BART/train could get you there. If you want to hone in on where you need to come up with a budget and talk to an agent who handles rentals.

Plan on 90 minutes. I plan on 60 minutes door-to-door to make a 10am meeting. Add some time for the commute traffic.

My friend highly recommends the train. She lives in Palo Alto and gets on at the University station. Takes the express. She loves being able to do work, rest and read on her own while she commutes. She swears by it. Sounds like a great use of time to me. ... more

Hi shiu227,

Realtors® typically do not comment on "crime & safety" due to Federal "anti-steering" law; however, we can direct you to information sources to allow you to come to a personal opinion about an area.

The answer is somewhat complicated. If the lot is in an area that needs septic, there must be a perc test done to determine the size house that can be built. For utilities, you are usually charged a per foot cost to bring them to the site. We will check the listing that you are referring to to see what it indicates. The zoning is important as well. ... more

Yollie, Temecula is a very nice community and my family has very deep seeded roots and history there as my Father-in-law was the President & primary negotiator and master planner for the purchase of the Vail Ranch and the Master Planner for what was once Rancho California and later became Temecula. In fact we still have several RE holdings throughout the Temecula and frequent the area regularly.

However, there are also several nice areas in North County that you may want to consider as well i.e. in and around Northeast Vista, Bonsall, Fallbrook, North Escondido and even the Valley Center area. Right now there are still some very good values in these areas and it will knock off about 25 to 45 minutes of drive time.

Should you ever want to view some of these properties we would be very happy to introduce them to you. We're a full service family owned and operated real estate brokerage, general contractor and interior design company/s with over 100 years of combined experience in the San Diego market. We're also a Manufactured Home Contractor, Dealer & Developer should you wish to explore that as an alternative.

Please feel free to log onto any of our very user friendly websites or you can call me anytime on my cell at 760 815-6977.
