I am a Real Estate Broker living in Ruby Hill and I know that there are many residents that commute to the South Bay from here. As you probably know, there is a toll lane that was added a few years ago on 680 going south so that has been helpful.

Commute can be a challenge on any freeway in the morning. I think 680 is still a better commute than 580 which I find always worse going west.

You should take a drive in the morning a few times and see if you are comfortable with the commute.

I can tell you that Ruby Hill is an awesome community and we have been living here since 2006. This is a very family orientated community and we have made many friends since we have been here.

Let me know if you are interested in seeing any homes. As of today there are 12 active homes listed in Ruby Hill ranging from$1,849,000 - $4,750,000.

Brentwood is a great place to live if you work in Brentwood. What amazes me is how friendly everyone is.... until you are driving on Vascgo pretty much any time, not just commuting hours. People who drive it every day know where it backs up, yet they race at dangerous speeds usually to end up one car ahead. If these warriors would just chill and go the speed limit, we would all get through a lot faster and in one piece. ... more

Hello Valerie, there is public bus transit in operations throughout the beach cities and the fare is $1.25 and 50cents transfer fee. http://www.lbtransit.com/Services/

There are various public transportation systems that you will have to google and study the routes to get to the destinations you mention. Maybe you could call and get some direct information to start with. Good luck.
