Dear Daaf929:

According to public records the owner is Joseph Burkitt since 1943. Public records do not show a change in ownership since. If you want to know for sure you can go to the Department of Finance to research it in person or hire a title company to research it for you (there is a nominal fee for that). Good luck!

Sincerely,
Mitchell S. Feldman

Kathryn Lilly answered:
Prior to the recent sale of this year; the property had not been on the open market since at least 1971.
It has transferred amongst family members, from at least as far back as 1971, but not sold on the open market.
So no other recent "sale price" exists for this house.
All the best,

Kathryn Lilly, Broker.

This home’s listing agent can tell you more about this place that I can (and probably will know a lot about similar properties in the area). You can email the agent from listing page using the orange “Contact Agent” button to the right of the home photos.

Or, you can look for other local agents on Trulia here: http://www.trulia.com/voices/directory/

Please let me know if you have any questions or if I can help with anything else. I am happy to be a resource for you. Good luck with the search!

Best,
Ali

Keep in mind that RealtyTrac's information may not always be accurate and oftentimes can be misleading--you could be looking at a lis pendens property--notice of default--some of those properties may not be for sale yet, and some may never be, if the default is satisfied by the owner. If you are interested in foreclosures, work with an agent, as most do end up being listed by a broker--he/she will have access to reliable information--also don't overlook traditional sales as some may turn out to be a much better bargain than some of the foreclosure properties. ... more

Mitchell Feldman answered:
Dear Anocerino:

If you want to research comparable sale information for a specific property, you would probably be better off using www.PropertyShark.com or www.Zillow.com. Those web sites can show you recent sale information.

Keep in mind that if you want a more specific and accurate estimate of your property's value, your best bet would be to have a real estate agent or two come by your home, provide you with the most recent and relevant sales comps and give you their opinion of how much your home is worth. It is also a god idea to speak to agent that specialize in your neighborhood and have sold homes in the area.

I have been helping consumers sell homes in Brooklyn since 1993, feel free to contact me as I would love the opportunity to help you. Good luck!

Sincerely,
Mitchell S. Feldman
