Hi..Be very careful as I have encountered many phone calls from people seeing advertised rental properties on Craigslist, Trulia, Zillow etc. The scam seems to involve a house that is currently for sale or recently was for sale and they are copying the photos and the listing as well as obtaining public record information for the owners etc. They advertise it for rent at a very low price to attract a lot of attention. They will eventually ask you for a deposit to send you the keys as they are out of state doing prophet work somewhere. DO NOT EVER SEND THEM ANY MONEY!
I recommend you get a local realtor who does rentals to help you as they will know if listed on the up and up or not. I believe on Trulia there is a flag button to flag it.
Good luck..
