Kathy Burgreen answered:
You will find it much easier to stay in an extended stay hotel, work with a local realtor who will find you a rental quickly. Most realtors prefer working with buyers and sellers - not renters. However, if you are staying in a local hotel, you can easily visit some local brokerage offices, ask to speak with the Office Manager or Broker in Charge, then ask that person to connect you with a realtor who can find you a rental. If that realtor doesn't work out, you can easily voice your complaint to the Office Manager.

Finally, realtors are not likely to work with a renter who lives out of state. To make things easier for you, make sure you have proof of income, your credit score is 620 or higher and you have cash to pay for 1st month rent + 1 month security + miscellaneous costs. If you own a pet, that will make it more difficult since most landlords do not allow pets.

Not too much other than try a private owner perhaps. Most people these days are going to run a background check and see the eviction. Or offer to pay the full year of rent up front where nonpayment wont be an issue. Otherwise not too much as you cant force someone to rent to you. ... more

Marsha Umansky answered:
You can only tour the rental complexes/ communities. You can pick up a rental guide in any Publix supermarket and start touring.
If, on the other hand you would like to avoid strictly rental communities, than contact a local realtor to expand your search.
All the best.

If you're an agent you should know how this works. You got your full fee; commission on a rental is only 1/2 month in 99.9% of cases. You got half a month, case closed.

Jonathan Klurfeld, Esq. answered:
The problem is that unless the landlord offers commission, most realtors aren't going to spend their time for free as that is how the realtor gets paid. Typically unless landlord has an agent too (or listed on the MLS), they dont offer commission to agents or deal with renter agents.
