No you do not have to have a permit to have a horse. But your property needs located in the correct zoning classification to have the horse on that property.

Hi Linda,

I just listed this property. It is a beauty.

To answer your question, this home is in a community (High Point) where you own your own land. As you are probably aware such communities are favorable because you are not faced with the continual increases to already high priced lot rent. In fact, High Point is only $35 per month--hard to beat for a community with all of High Points amenities.

The is one other community that may be of interest nearby called Brookridge. While is is not a 55+ age restricted community, it is a 24/7 gated community with similar amenities where you own your own land.

Give a shout. I would be happy to show you this lovely home on Eastern Circle.

Regards,

Any house in any neighborhood that is vacant for a long time is subject to vandelism. This is a beautiful area and a pretty high end neighborhood. No worries here.

This property is zoned Agricultural. Although, it is not commercial, there are some businesses that can be operated from an AG zoning.

I have included a link to the Hernando County Property Appraisers office. Once you open the link, click on the AG tab to read about the exemptions. You can also read about Commerical properties.

If you need additional help, I have commercial properties listed.

after living in brookridge for many years and selling homes in there for the past decade i have seen a couple of attempts to make brookridge a 55+ community. it has been turned down each time. currently brookridge is open to any age group, but any possible change to the bylaws will have to be voted on by the entire community. brookridge is a 24/7 guard gated and patrolled community with a very active association making sure the owners are complying with all rules

if you are looking for a 55+ community where you own your land, Highpoint may be an option. i have included a link to additional info about highpoint.

This property is not currently for sale. The information is from Realty Trac and they obtain their information from the Public Records. Each time a document is filed regarding a foreclosure, lis pendens, etc...Realty trac gathers that information. It does not mean that it won't be for sale in the future, it just takes time for the Bank to assign the property to a Broker in the area. You mentioned a barn...do you need a barn for livestock? Then you need to make sure you are looking at AG property. I checked our local MLS and Statewide MLS, there is no property on this street currently for sale. ... more

Hi Rich - to give you a general idea you're looking at $20,000 - $30,000+ depending on options/upgrades. That's not to say you can't get it done for less, but that's the range that I've seen pretty consistently. ... more
