Not much...I had a step-son who was going there and having problems. When we were in the principal's office to find out what the problem was, he admitted he was being bullied. When we asked what could be done, they said they would investigate. No investigaton took place and nothing else was ever done by the principal and administrators and things got worse. Eventually, we had to pull him from Erie Middle School due to the lack of action on their part. ... more

I'm guessing that you are asking for contact information about a unit on Red Mountain Dr. If so, the link below may help you.

Boulder Valley School District has a really great interactive boundary map you can use:
http://content.bvsd.org/attareas/atmap_district.shtml

For elementary schools, it will be difficult to determine which is the neighborhood school without a specific property address, since the intersection at Table Mesa and Broadway is right at the boundary of three schools. It could be Creekside, Bear Creek, or Mesa.

Middle school will be either Manhattan Middle or Southern Hills Middle, again because the middle school boundaries meet at Table Mesa and Broadway.

High School will mostly likely be Fairview High School.

Hello Whites!

I'm going to send you over to look at the district web site and the policy. The school principal is the person who determines whether you can take advantage of the open enrollment option. I recommend that you get an application in as soon as possible.

Heritage and Trail Ridge middle schools are within walking distance. However, if your 11-year-old is enrolled at another school in the district, your student may be able to attend that school until you ready to be relocated.

Good luck.

Hello Paul!

Wow! I thought the rap on Longmont by young set was it lacked an exciting night life and entertainment choices for teens. Not true, though.

There is plenty going on here.

The good news is the education opportunities are bountiful. You asked about a GED. Here are some links for Olde Columbine High School students and people living in the area.

Hi Kaited:

Just some quick and important notes on open enrollment in the BVSD.

It is a great program, but it is NOT right for everybody. Open enrollment invitations do not necessarily go to everyone who wants to open enroll in a particular school. Each school has a limited number of available seats. And, as you might expect, the schools perceived among the best get the most applications for open enrollment. Secondly, you should check with the school district about the possibility of open enrolling for the upcoming school year. My understanding is that the application period for the upcoming school year ended at 4 p.m. Jan. 15. Finally, you should know that, in general, the school district does not provide bus transportation for students who open enroll, meaning you have to arrange transportation for your student.

Again, this is a great program, but it does have its limitations. You can read more about it at: http://bvsd.org/openenrollment/Pages/default.aspx
