Don't move here, then! I am a female that has lived in Roxbury for most of my life. There is crime in the neighborhood but I've never had an issue. Gentrification is sadly becoming a huge problem in this neighborhood. Yuppies from all over who have no understanding of the culture or respect for the people move here to drain the resources and push people who aren't scared of the neighborhood away. If you are coming to Roxbury and are afraid of the people you're going to be living around, do not move here. Trust me the community won't respond to your timid leeching. ... more

Hello!
We cannot comment on crimes or "safety" of any area. My advice when it comes to Boston is go to the local police station. Each part of Boston has a local station.

Three dogs...okay, definitely you have to check out Callahan Park. As an owner of a Golden we spend many a weekend up there. You will have to check it out when you get here. What price range are you looking at? I'd suggest
looking at the MetroWest area of Boston - many of the towns do have the commuter rail to Boston if that was
something of interest to you too. If I can be of assistance please reach out to me. You can contact me at
nancy.butterly@ziprealty 0r by phone at 508-309-0309. Enjoy your dogs!

Brighton is far far from the South End.
Also, Brighton is mostly a college town because of it proximity to BU and BC.
However, the South End is the 2nd most popular area in the city and demands very high $$$. 300k range is too low for even a decent 1 bedroom condo.
Kind regards,

Hi,
Brokers are not supposed to give their opinions about the safety of an area. I'm sure you have read the good advice below to check the crime stats and local police. Just want to add that I live in Roslindale with two children and so far it has been great! Convenient to the city, and plenty of programs for children through the Roslindale Community Center, plus many more programs available in West Roxbury and Hyde Park for Roslindale residents.
Best of luck,
Mary

Yes, I agree check the crime statistics in the area. Orient Heights T Station is walking distance, since it is only a couple of blocks over from Brandywyne Village apartments. It is easily accessible by T, Sumner Tunnel. If you are not working with a Real Estate agent and have any further questions, please feel free to contact me. I am glad to assist.

Best of luck!
