Hi Jake, The Bodega Bay area is stunningly beautiful. The nature & wildlife are wonderful to live in. It is green most of the year. We do have rain December -February but also have many sunny days during that time. We do also have some foggy days, maybe 20% of the time. Temperatures average 50 during the winter & 65 during spring & summer. There is almost no crime in the area. We have a very efficient Fire/Emergency unit in the area. Shopping & Medical facilities are approx. 20-30 minutes away. I strongly suggest you make a visit here. I will be delighted to give you a Tour of the area and also show you some Ocean View Homes in the area. Thank you, Deborah-707-875-9644 or 504-236-1119. ... more

Your family income has nothing to do with a "good price point". Your net income after all your expenses would be a much better indication of your ability to purchase. This and your other question regarding lenders is best answered by a lender, and not a real estate professional. Call Greg at RPM Mortgage - (800) 244-1302. He can answer all your lender related questions.
"Is renting out a house easy" - what you see as "easy" can be interpreted many different ways. Contact Matt or Pam at www.bodegabayescapes - they are in the rental business and can answer those questions.
Contact Adams Realty at (707) 875-3200 for all your real estate related questions.

Kelley Eling answered:
Bodega Bay is a coastal community, where the Alfred Hitchcock movie "The Birds" was filmed. Bodega Bay attracts tourists and those seeking a relatively remote coastal lifestyle. Personally, I would not characterize it as "professional" and to my knowledge crime is not an issue. My sister lives nearby, in another small remote town, Bloomfield. Don't blink, you might miss it. :) ... more
