I am of course a fan of Mungo because I work for the company and live in a Mungo Home, but I'd love to live in the community it has great community scape and beautiful homes. There is a pool close by to homes which makes summers much more bearable. There are great sized lots and even basement options. I can go on and on, and is why I felt impelled to comment. Good luck with your search and hope you find the perfect home and area. ... more

Great question, it will depend on the builder and size of the home. If the house has a HERS score its easy to tell. I live in Ashland Mills which is on the line of Columbia and Blythewood. We live in a Mungo Home that is energy efficient and new construction. 2 adults and one tween in a 2200 square foot home and our gas bill during summer is about 18$ and our electric bill is anywhere from 120-150$

I hope this helps and feel free to email or call me directly if you have any more precise questions related to the cost.

Mr. Monroe,

In this time that we are living in it is hard to find a city that is safe, quite and friendly but with that said you may want to come visit Blythewood, SC. Blythewood is conveniently located just outside of the state's capital city of Columbia and about 45 minutes south of Charlotte, NC. Blythewood is a quite area with some of the most friendliest people that you will ever meet. We defiantly put the 'Southern Hospitality' in the South. If you would like to come a visit, give us a call. We'd LOVE to show you why you will want to make Blythewood you next and final Home. ... more

We would love to congratulate you on your new home. As you have already realized, even though you are purchasing a new home, you should still have it inspected by a qualified home inspector. Just like a new car, a new home may have unseen issues. The last thing you would want is purchase your new home and then problems begin to arise. As for a home inspector in the Columbia/Blythewood area, we only recommend companies who we personal use on our own homes. Joe Boyle with House Master Inspections is our highly recommended go to inspector. He is very honest and thorough in his inspections. I hope this helps you and anyone else looking for an excellent Home Inspector. ... more

Lisa, I know it has been some time since you asked this question, but I have two children who have special needs and I live in the Blythewood/ Richland 2 school district. We actually chose Richland 2 because of the quality of special needs services. They are probably one of the best in the state with special needs. Not every school in Richland 2 has a program for autistic children. Of course, it would depend on the level of services required for your child. Since the autism spectrum is so wide, children with this diagnosis are often served in several different educational environments. One thing that I must bring to your attention is that if the school your child is zoned to does not have a program that suits his or her needs, they will provide bus transportation (door to door) to the appropriate school. One thing that has impressed me over the years, is the willingness of Richland 2 to include my children by mainstreaming as much as possible. If you have any other questions about special needs or real estate, I would be more than happy to talk with you. I can be reached at 803-331-5402. Kind Regards, Carolyn Green ... more

This lot is loamy soil mix including clay and sand. The property is located just above the line where the Piedmont starts. You will find more hardwoods in this area. It is not part of the "sandhills". Please call me if you have any more questions about the lot. I am the listing agent and am quite familiar with the lot.

I'd say Cobblestone would be ideal. I dont' like that we can't just drive around and look, because of the gate/security, but that's what provides safety. You'll just have to call ahead if you are expecting someon
It's the only security gated property in the area, that I know of. Good luck!
