Dewinterizing and heating the house are things that you could do to make the house a bit more comfortable and to make sure some smaller things don't go wrong. They're precautions, but they aren't very essential to getting things ready. I would suggest getting an alarm system though. with you not being there, people might try to break in more than they would if you were there. You don't want that to happen, and a security system could help you with that.

You might want to dewinterize, that's really just going to be a judgment call though. It would probably be a good idea to get the heat turned on, just so that nothing freezes in the cold weather that should stay unfrozen. As far as security goes. I think it's extremely important to get security put in. If you aren't going to be there very often, you're going to want to be as safe as possible. The last thing you would want is to have the place broken into while you can't do anything about it. Getting a camera, if nothing else, will be a huge thing that you should definitely do.

Manufactured homes are set on pier footings. The perimeter foundation does not actually support the home. It is merely for decorative purposes.
